You can convert a Star*Net DAT file to an FBK file that can be imported into an Autodesk Civil 3D survey database.
- In the
Toolspace, on the
Toolbox tab, expand
Miscellaneous Utilities
Survey. Double-click Convert Star*Net DAT to FBK to display the Convert Star*Net DAT to FBK dialog box.
- Under Source (DAT) File, select the source DAT file.
- Under Destination (FBK) File, specify a location and name for the resulting FBK file.
- Under
StarNet DAT File Settings, specify the following settings:
- Adjustment Type: Specify
2D or
3D.
Tip: Click View DAT File to check which adjustment type is used in the file.
- Coordinate Order: Specify North-East or East-North.
- Units: Specify Feet US, Feet Int, or Meters as the linear unit type. Specify DMS as the angular unit type.
- Angle Data Station Order: Specify
At-From-To or
From-At-To.
Tip: Click View DAT File to check which order type is used in the file.
- Distance/Vertical Data Type: Specify
Slope Dist/Zenith or
Horiz Dist/Elev Diff.
Tip: Specify Horiz Dist/Elev Diff if the file is in 2D.
- Scale Factor: Specify a scale factor if you want to scale the distance measurements in the file when the FBK file is imported into the survey database. The scale factor you specify is written into the header of the FBK file and it is applied when the FBK file is imported.
Note: You must also enable Scale Factor corrections in the Measurement Corrections section of the Survey Database Settings dialog box in order for the scale factor to be applied when the FBK file is imported.
- Adjustment Type: Specify
2D or
3D.
- Click OK to convert the file.
