Create traverses to perform traverse closure analysis such as Compass Rule, Crandall Rule, or Transit Rule. You can also perform a least squares analysis on a traverse.
You can create a traverse from data that you import from a field book file, or use the Traverse Editor to manually enter traverse observations.
Note: You can use the Coordinate Geometry Editor to create a traverse from existing COGO data, load it from a polyline, or manually enter known data. For more information, see About Editing Coordinate Geometry.
Tutorial Exercise: Creating Survey Data Using the Traverse Editor
- In Toolspace, on the Survey tab, expand the Networks collections. Expand a network
right-click Traverses
New.
- In the New Traverse dialog box, click a cell in the Value column and enter values. Click OK. Note:
Observations created using Point names will display in the Value column.
