Part-Based Pressure Networks

Learn the difference between part-based and path-based pressure networks.

Dynamic path-based pressure networks were introduced in Autodesk Civil 3D 2021.
  • When creating a path-based pressure network, you select locations to define the path and the pressure pipes and bends are created with respect to grade and cover.
  • Modifying the path will update the locations, lengths, and angles of the connected pressure network parts.
  • You can add or remove bends and PIs along a pipe run and add branch fittings at the intersections of pipe runs.

Pressure networks created with the original commands are referred to as part-based pressure networks. In Civil 3D 2021, you can continue to create and edit part-based pressure networks, or you can convert them to path-based pressure networks by using the Create Pipe Run from Parts command.
