Analyze Design Review Risk

Construction IQ helps predict and prevent critical design issues such as code compliance issues, critical building component issues, and errors and omissions in design and documentation.

By analyzing design issues and surfacing the critical issues to BIM managers, VDC managers, and superintendents, project leaders can take daily action to prioritize and resolve design issues before they become time consuming RFIs and costly changes downstream during construction.

Prerequisites

To use this data for design reviews, make sure your project:

1. Uses design issues.
2. Collects data through the Files tool.
3. Captures the design issue data in English.

The Design feature provides information about the design and coordination issues that can be used as part of the design review process.

Design Review Risk Factors

1. Within the Design feature in the Insight tool, add the Design Review Risk Factors card from the Card Library to see risks associated with:

   • Code compliance
   • Critical components
   • Incomplete documentation
   • Overdue issues
   • Overdue reviews

   

2. Click any of the filters for the design review risk factors to see an expanded view.

   

With each risk factor, the Root Cause and Building Components are predicted by Construction IQ. Project leads can override these two attributes. To do so:

1. Click the Title of an issue from the list.
2. Remove any Building Components listed as necessary.
3. Deselect the Root Cause as necessary.

For example, in the image below, you would remove the listed Building Components, and deselect Code Compliance and Documentation Conflict.
