Views FAQ and Limitations
FAQ
What does it mean if my Model Coordination view has “and 1 model deleted” in the view details panel?
The view details panel in the Views tool lists the models included in a view under Contents. If the list mentions "x model deleted", this means a model (file or viewable) that was in the view could be:
- Deleted from the coordination space folder
- Moved out of the coordination space folder
- Renamed in the authoring software
- The sub-folder containing the file has been removed from the coordination space
Why are models missing from my view?
Views can lose track of models if the model name changes. Models in Model Coordination refer to each individual viewable in RVT and NWC files. Using different methods for saving and exporting NWCs files can produce different names for the viewable, potentially causing the model to be lost from the view.
Why isn’t the Levels tab working as expected?
The Levels tab can be used to filter your models or views by level. This includes any related clash and object table data, enabling you to focus coordination efforts to a specific area. There are some limitations:
- Only one level can be selected at a time.
- The Model browser and Issues tabs aren't filtered by the selected level.
- Applied level filters aren't saved to views. But if level filters are applied when you create an issue, they are saved to preserve the issue context.
Limitations
Saving views to Docs
- The following data is not carried through from Model Coordination to Docs, or doesn't work in the snapshot file in Docs:
- Issues
- Clashes
- Levels
- Custom filters
- Object table settings
When filters are applied to exclude composite objects, such as Curtain Walls, from a view, and then object colors are applied to that view, the colors aren't translated to the snapshot file saved to Docs.
When views with object colors applied are saved to Docs as snapshot files, it's not possible to change the color profile, turn colors on or off, or access any object color settings in the viewer toolbar in Docs.
When a snapshot which contains object colors is open in the viewer in Docs, using the Environment option will alter the colors. We recommend using the Boardwalk, Simple Gray, or Simple White options to visualize the object colors as they appear in Model Coordination.
If you are experiencing any of the below, contact support for further guidance:
- A few customers may experience issues related to the migration of existing projects to use the new model property filters:
- Model filters not available
- Permission errors
- Inability to create or edit views
- Inability to save views to Autodesk Docs
