Launch the Edit Configuration Application

You can launch the Edit Configuration application in the following ways:

  • Create a desktop shortcut
  • Double-click editmap.exe
  • Select Edit Configuration from the Start menu

Creating a desktop shortcut

The easiest way to access the Edit Configuration application is to create a desktop shortcut that launches it. To do this:

  1. In Windows Explorer, navigate to the folder where the Autodesk Fabrication product (CADmep, ESTmep or CAMduct) is installed. This is typically C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Fabrication <version>\<Autodesk Fabrication product>.
  2. Right-click editmap.exe and select Send to > Desktop (create shortcut).

The desktop shortcut is created. Double-click the shortcut to launch the Edit Configuration application.

Double-click editmap.exe

  1. In Windows Explorer, navigate to the folder where the Autodesk Fabrication product is installed. This is typically C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Fabrication <version>\<Autodesk Fabrication product>.
  2. Double-click editmap.exe to launch the Edit Configuration application.
Select Edit Configuration from Start menu
  1. Click the Start button All Programs Autodesk Fabrication <product name> Edit Configuration.

The Edit Configuration application is launched.

Note: When using the Edit Configuration application, the Fabrication application you are editing (CADmep, ESTmep or CAMduct) must not be running. If you use the Edit Configuration application while a Fabrication product is running, when the Fabrication product is closed, the settings enabled at the time within the Fabrication product, and not within the Edit Configuration application, will be saved.
