Atomize

The rendering results of the Atomize object have been improved to more closely match those in previous versions of the application. Additionally, parameters have been added to add flexibility to the definition of the look of points in the point cloud.

Shape option

Select whether to display the points as circles, crosses, stars, hexagons, horizontal lines, vertical lines, octagons, pentagons, squares, or triangles.

Note: For shapes with semi-transparent edges, enable Sort in the Rendering section of the parent object to achieve optimal rendering results.

Size field

Sets the size of a point.

Note: Depending on the Shape type, the Size may need to be increased, as more or fewer pixels are drawn.

Rotation field

Sets the rotation angle of the points.

Perspective field

Sets the amount of perspective applied to the size variation of the points.

Distance field

Sets the distance between the points and the rendering camera using the Perspective value.

Density field

Sets the density of points in the cloud. A value of 0.000 displays no points, while 1.000 displays all points.

Horizontal Decimation field

Sets the number of horizontal pixel lines to remove from the point.

Vertical Decimation field

Sets the number of vertical pixel lines to remove from the point.

Masking Top field

Sets the masking amount from the top edge.

Masking Bottom field

Sets the masking amount from the bottom edge.

Masking Left field

Sets the masking amount from the left edge.

Masking Right field

Sets the masking amount from the right edge.

Action / Image

PNG files can be imported as a texture into any map object where a texture can be loaded.

The alpha channel of a file imported as a texture into a map object is considered and applied.

Selective

Default Selection

The ML menu is selected by default rather than the Keyers menu.

ROI Planar Tracking

Disable Scale to remove scaling from the planar tracking.

ROI Motion Warp

Set the ROI tracking mode to Motion Warp to take a single machine learning model frame result and track it across other frames using motion vector data. When multiple frames are used, the application interpolates in between them.

ROI Blending

When more than one layer is present in the ML list, the ROI coverage can be used for blending. Disable Use ROI to blend the whole layer; enable it to blend only the portion inside the ROI. Additionally, use the Falloff parameter to blend adjacent ROIs together without exposing their seams.

Blur

A new parameter has been added to the Node Prefs menu to mitigate a problem on macOS where rendering could be significantly slower when using the Defocus blur on vertically oriented images with some blur sizes.

Defocus Option

On macOS, defocus blur rendering time varies a lot depending on the blur size and the image resolution. Sometimes, processing the blur vertically (flipping the image 90 degrees when applying the blur) may be faster. Note that the rendered output is the same whether the blur is rendered vertically or horizontally. This option is not available on Rocky Linux.

Burn-In Metadata

Use the Input Metadata Keys layer in the Burn-In Metadata node or Timeline FX to burn the metadata keys contained in a clip or node onto a clip.

For more information, see Input Metadata Keys in the Burn-In Metadata documentation.

Type

The status of the Show Axis option of the Layer, Paragraph, or Characters axes and the Show Position option of a Characters axis are persisted.

Working Precision

Creating a 32-bit project automatically sets the project's rendering Working Precision value to 32-bit Graphics.

Lens Distortion

Lens Distortion has been updated to maintain compatibility with 3D Equalizer through the addition of the 3DE4 - Anamorphic - Stabilizer - Degree 6 and 3DE4 - Radial - Stabilizer - Degree 6 models. These models can compensate for artifacts produced by a certain class of camera stabilizers.
