UDF Options

Brings up the options dialog box and provides display (General) options, Symbols options, and Labeling options.

Under the General tab, as shown below, the user can select to automatically run the previous sequences sequence, opt for highlighting junctions with low pressure and clean pipe only, set the sequence time-step delay, and specify the number of decimal places for display.

General Tab

Run Previous Sequence Automatically

The last existing sequence will be automatically evaluated (run) before a new sequence can be created. Unsuccessful evaluation will abort the creation process of a new sequence.

Highlight Junctions with Low Pressure

Junctions in the defined flush area with a pressure less than the specified Minimum System Pressure will be highlighted when viewing UDF results. For each sequence, up to 10 junctions (in the current flush zone) which have the most pressure deviation from the specified minimum system pressure will be highlighted.

Highlight Clean Pipes Only

Clean pipes are defined as pipes which are flushed with velocity greater than (or equal to) the desired minimum flush velocity. If checked, InfoWater UDF will highlight (color-code) the clean pipes only.  If this option is unchecked, pipes will be highlighted as flushed per the defined on the general tab of the flush sequence manager.

Hide Sequence Manager During Element Selection

Selecting this item will hide the Sequence Manager Window during the hydrant, pipe and valve selection. Selecting this item will hide the Sequence Manager during the selection process.

Enforce Maximum Active Sequence Zoom Scale

This option sets and enforces a maximum scale and prevents the sequence from being zoomed in too far.

Model Dechlorination Device with Minor Loss

Adds an additional minor loss to represent the presence of a Dechlorination device in the in the flushing stream.

Sequence Stepping Delay (milliseconds)

Enter the duration in milliseconds of the pause between sequences when using the sequence slide.

Decimal Placement

Enter the number of decimal places that will be displayed for all numeric fields. This applies to input and output data. Type your drop-down text here.

Convert Output Flow to GPM/LPS

Check this box to convert the units for the results in output flow to gallons per minute or liter per second.

Convert Flush Volume to Gallons

Check this box to convert the units of flush volume to gallons, for the results.

OK - Click to save any changes and close the dialog box.

Cancel - Click to close the dialog box without saving any changes.

Under the Symbols tab, as shown below, flow arrows can be set. The user can also select the color, line width, and symbol size of the clean and flushing pipes.

Symbols Tab

Show Flow Arrows

Select to show the direction of flow in all pipes flushed by a previous sequence will be highlighted when viewing UDF results.

Arrow Size (Map Unit)

The size of the flow arrows displayed when the Show Flow Arrows option is checked.

Flushing Pipe Color

Pipes being flushed by the current sequence will be colored as specified here when viewing results.

Line Width

Pipes being flushed during the current sequence will be the thickness specified here when viewing results.

Flushed Pipe Color

Pipes already flushed before the current sequence will be colored as specified here when viewing results.

Line Width

Pipes flushed during a previous sequence will be the thickness specified here when viewing results.

Hydrant Highlighting color

The hydrant used for flushing by the current sequence will be colored as specified here when viewing results.

Symbol Size

The hydrant used for flushing the current sequence will be highlighted with a circle of this size.

Valve Highlighting Color

The valve opened or closed for the current flush sequence will be colored as specified here when viewing results.

Symbol Size

Valves that are opened or closed for the current sequence will be highlighted with a circle of this size.

Valve Highlighting Symbol

Select highlighting symbol from options in the drop-down menu.

Highlight Closing Valves Using Different Color

Select this checkbox to show the valves closed in the previous sequences with a new desired color.

OK - Click to save any changes and close the dialog box.

Cancel - Click to close the dialog without saving any changes.

Under the Labeling tab, label properties for the hydrant and pipe results can be set.

Labeling Tab

    • The labeling features allows a mix of labeling between hydrants and valves.  By selecting either ID or Output Results allows the data to be mixed between the hydrant, valve, and pipe elements.

      • If the "Active Sequence" for Hydrants, Valves and Pipes is selected, it will label the active sequence only and not the entire UDF zone.

      • By un-selecting the active sequence It offers the ability to turn off all UDF labels.

      • Symbol Options - Opens the Symbol Options dialog box.

OK - Click to save any changes and close the dialog box.

Cancel - Click to close the dialog without saving any changes.

Under the Labeling Tab, click on the Current Symbol button to change the symbol that is associated with the hydrant as shown below.

You can change the symbol in the Symbol Selector dialog box. This dialog box can be used to change the font and appearance of the hydrant, valve, and pipe symbols displayed on the map after a UDF simulation.
