There are a number of database-wide settings that, by default, can be edited by all database users. These global settings can be protected, allowing only edits by database owners to be saved.
If database-wide settings protection is on, the buttons allowing edits in the following InfoWorks WS Pro dialogs will be disabled for all users that are not database users:
- Set Remote Roots dialog
- User Defined Flags dialog
- User Defined Field Names dialog
- Live Data Flags dialog (only the administrator operation)
- Default Logo dialog
- Pipe Materials dialog
- Choice List dialog
- Weather Feed Configuration dialog
- Weather Feed Properties dialog
Also in the following IWLive Pro Operator Client dialogs:
- Server dialog
- Configure Clean Up dialog
- Configure Verification Results dialog
To protect database-wide settings:
- As an administrator and database owner,
select File | Database settings | Users and permissions.
This opens the Users And Permissions dialog.
The Implement users and permissions in this database box must be checked.
- Check the Only database owners can change database-wide settings box.
- Click OK.
