- Length to 0.
Notice the groomable splines no longer display.
- Width to 0.03.
This sets the splines to a width that is good for facial hair.
Tip: To see the spline width, set Display to Cards. By default, Display is set to Lines, which only displays the spline length.
- Length to 0.
- To select the Length brush, click its icon:
.
- In the Length section, set the following:
- Increment to 0.2.
- Goal Length to 0.8
This sets the spline length to a maximum value of 0.8 in the brushed areas.
- Brush the areas of the face that you want the beard stubble to appear. Tip: Larger brush areas provide more uniform distribution of the splines. To Increase or decrease the radius of the brush tool, press the B key while dragging.
- (Optional) To speed up the workflow, you can use the brushes on the left side of the mesh, and then click Flip To Right
to apply a mirrored version of the brush strokes to the right side.
- Use other grooming brushes to create the desired look of your character's beard. For example:
- Use the Pose
brush to push splines in the direction of the brush stroke.
- Use the Smooth
brush to blend the shapes of splines within the brush radius.
See Brushes for information about each grooming brush.
