Get Started

Use the information in this section to get started with installing and using the MEP Content Editor.

Requirements

Set up MEP Content Editor Sync

  1. Access Autodesk Account > Products and Services > Product Updates.
  2. Locate and select MEP Content Editor Sync.
  3. Download and install MEP Content Editor Sync.
Note: If MEP Content Editor Sync is not listed, set the Release Date filter from the top-right corner to “All”.

Download a Sample Configuration (Optional)

  1. Access Autodesk Account > Products and Services > All Products and Services.
  2. Search for a product (e.g. Revit).
  3. On the Revit product card click View Details.
  4. Scroll down the page to Available downloads and click the Libraries tab.
  5. In the Libraries tab, find a configuration (e.g. MEP Fabrication Imperial Content 2.51 for Revit), and download and install it.
Note: By default, the configuration is downloaded to the C:\Users\Public\Public Documents\Autodesk\Fabrication\Configurations folder.

Upload a Configuration (Optional)

  1. Launch MEP Content Editor Sync.
  2. Login with your Autodesk ID.
  3. Select Libraries > Fabrication MEP Configurations in the left pane.
  4. Click upload-24 on top of the configurations list.
  5. Navigate to the configuration folder containing the map.ini file.
  6. Click "Select Folder'.

Notes:

  • By default, configurations are installed in C:\Users\Public\Public Documents\Autodesk\Fabrication\Configurations\
  • Uploading a configuration will automatically make you the admin of that configuration. See Permissions and Competitive Data.
  • The upload process may take several minutes.

Modify a Configuration

  1. Access MEP Content Editor.

  2. Make sure you have the correct configuration selected.

  3. Modify the configuration:

Sync with Revit

  1. Open MEP Content Editor Sync.
  2. Locate and synchronize the modified configuration.
  3. Click more-vertical-24 for more options and select “Sync” from the list.
  4. Reload the cloud configuration in Revit. See Specify a Fabrication Configuration and Load Services in Revit.
Note: This will download an instance of the configuration on your device.
