Media Feature Pack for Windows

The N and KN editions of Windows include all the essential features of an operating system except for Windows Media Player and related technologies. Autodesk Moldflow products rely on these media technologies to generate animations in reports correctly.

To ensure proper animation generation, please install the Windows Media Feature Pack and VP9 Video Extensions by following these steps:

  1. Check Your Windows Version

    1. Go to Start and search for System Information.
    2. In the System Information window, locate OS Name.
    3. If the OS Name includes "N" or "KN", you are using an N or KN version of Windows. If the OS Name does not include "N" or "KN", no further action is required.
  2. Install the Media Feature Pack

For Windows version 1909 and later:

    • Windows 10 N: Select the Start button, then select Settings > Apps > Apps & features > Optional features > Add a feature. In the list, locate the Media Feature Pack and install it.

    • Windows 11 N: Select the Start button, then select Settings > Apps > Optional features. Select View features next to Add an optional feature, and then in the list, locate the Media Feature Pack and install it.

For Windows versions earlier than 1909:

  3. Install VP9 Video Extensions

  4. Restart Your Computer

    • Once the Media Feature Pack and VP9 Video Extensions are installed, restart your computer to ensure that all changes are applied.
