Average fiber orientation
The Average fiber orientation result has been extended to 3D analyses. This result shows you where, in the part, fibers are more orientated and where they are less orientated.
The Average fiber orientation result is available for analyses that include Fill, or Fill+Pack, when the Fiber orientation analysis if fiber material option is selected.
The Average fiber orientation result is supported for the following mesh types:
Midplane
Dual Domain
3D
This result is not made visible by default. To see this result, click (Results tab > Plots panel > New Plot > Plots)
The Average fiber orientation result, for 3D analyses, is the average of the fiber orientation tensors through the half thickness. We recommend using this result primarily in thin regions; for chunky regions or areas of irregular shape, the average result is less accurate.
The Average fiber orientation result is a time-series result, and is saved for 3D nodes, including beam and tetrahedra interface nodes, only.
