To expand selection to planar triangles

Select all the elements on a plane or face, using the Planar Triangles tool.

Use this tool, for example, to select all triangular elements on a plane before applying boundaries condition, or editing the surface. The elements are selected if there is connectivity.

Note: Faces are defined by the CAD geometry.

1. Select an element on the required surface

   

2. Click (Mesh tab > Selection panel > Expand To), and select Planar Triangles from the drop down menu.

   All connected triangles on the same plane are selected.
