Dimensional diagnostic

For models that use a 3D mesh, you can determine the distances between model surfaces.

The Dimensional diagnostic is used to view model dimensions in a 3D mesh. Dimensions are calculated based on the normal of each element.

To access this diagnostic,

• Click (Mesh tab > Mesh Diagnostics panel > Dimensional)
• Enter the minimum and maximum dimensions, then click Show to see the results graphically in the display.
• Click (Mesh tab > Mesh Diagnostics panel > Show) to turn off the graphical display.

Note: The display may take some time to update, especially if there is a large number of elements within the minimum and maximum input values.

Note: Use the Diagnostic Navigator tool on the far right hand side of the ribbon, to move from one identified element to the next.
