What's New in 2026

This release introduces new features and enhancements that expand the capabilities, enhance solution accuracy, and reduce time to solution.

Changed solver result file naming for 3D Flow analyses

The naming of result files from 3D Flow analyses has changed. 3D Flow analyses include 3D Fill, 3D Fill+Pack and 3D Standalone Pack analyses. In particular, the results of a 3D Flow analysis may now be distributed over many files. In the project folder you will see a new .of4 result file, and multiple .of1 files with an additional number extension, for example: .001.of1. This change enables faster transfer of intermediate result files back to your project folder, saving you computation time.

Export to prior versions of Moldflow is not supported for 3D Flow analyses

Due to the above result file changes, you cannot view 3D Flow analysis results from the Moldflow 2026 release in older versions of Moldflow, including Moldflow Communicator. 3D Flow analyses include 3D Fill, 3D Fill+Pack and 3D Standalone Pack analyses. In particular, for 3D models, .mfr files exported from Moldflow 2026 can only be viewed in Moldflow Communicator 2026. If you try viewing 3D Flow results in prior releases of Synergy, Adviser or Communicator, the Temperature at Flow Front result and all intermediate 3D Flow analysis results will be missing. There is no problem when using Moldflow 2026 to view analysis results from prior versions of Moldflow. There is no change to the way that you view analysis results inside Synergy, Adviser, and Communicator.

No compatibility for 3D Flow results with prior versions of Moldflow Communicator

Exported Communicator (.mfr) results of a 3D Flow analysis can only be viewed in Moldflow Communicator 2026 or later. 3D Flow analyses include 3D Fill, 3D Fill+Pack and 3D Standalone Pack analyses. Prior versions of Moldflow Communicator will not correctly display 3D Flow analysis results exported from Moldflow 2026. Moldflow Communicator 2026 will correctly display .mfr files exported from prior releases. We strongly recommend that all users of Moldflow Communicator upgrade to the 2026 version of Moldflow Communicator to avoid compatibility problems.
