Quick Release Processes

Do not let your innovation be throttled by formal approval processes in early stages of your design process. This template enables you to manage preliminary releases of your designs in a very easy manner - and still provides full traceability of your product’s maturity at the same time.

Simplicity is key to this template. It does not enforce specific rules and requires a minium of user interactions only. The release process' workflow also is minimalist and can be handled by a single user, without another person’s approval. Automatic notifications will be sent by the system to selected stakeholders to properly document the update and to save time for engineering.

All is focused on being used in a quick manner.

Quick Release Workspace

If new product design data is shared early on in the development process, downstream processes can act earlier and purchasing people for example will meet the schedule of long lead time items easier. This has to be done in a secure and easy manner to not lose time in the process due to the additional publications. In addition, data has to be flagged as pre-release and locked to prevent unauthorized changes. Traceability is also required to help everyone to better understand changes that are happening to the data later on. All of this is provided by this process.

Addition to Change Management

This template is supposed to be used in addition to the Change Management template which is also available in the Template Library. The Change Management template provides standardized process templates for Change Request and Change Order processes to properly release product data for production and to keep the whole supply chain up to date.

This Quick Release Processes template however helps to speed up the process of publishing product data in early stages of the project. As such, the processes of this template are not supposed to replace the approval processes of the Change Management template, but to enable quick pre-releases of the design. Users may create new version of Bill of Materials data with this app’s processes and can trace all changes that take place to these versions. But releasing the product design for production still requires Change Order processes.
