Plan a sprint activity
Planning a sprint within the context of an innovation project requires planning individual activities. This includes determining who will complete the activity and how much time it will take.
Assign the activity
This is done in the Assignment section on the activity.
(Optional) In the Team field, begin typing or select the team members who may oversee this activity.
In the Assignee field, begin typing or select the team member who will complete the activity.
(Optional) In the Additional Assignees field, begin typing or select additional team members who may complete the activity.
(Optional) In the Reviewers field, begin typing or select team members who may review the activity before it is complete.
Note: You must add someone to this field if you intend on sending the activity to the Review state.
Determine the time to complete the activity
The time needed to complete an activity, combined with the number of people working on a project, will determine how many activities can be completed in one sprint. When planning a sprint, you need to determine the time to complete each activity and enter it as a number of hours. The planned number of hours is shown in the Effort section of the activity.
The planned effort can only be done within the innovation project’s Activity Backlog tab. This is so that the person planning the sprint can easily see the total planned effort in one place. To set the number of hours for an activity:
- Navigate to the innovation project’s Activity Backlog tab.
- Click Edit.
- In the Planned Effort column, enter the number of hours determined for the activity.
- Click Save.
When the activity is selected for the next sprint and the sprint begins, the Planned Effort on the activity is automatically populated by the previously set number of hours.
