Perform external review

If the internal review should be followed by an external review (for example by a customer), you only have to define the given users responsible for managing this review. Use the External Review fields in the Approval section to enable this capability. Their mechanisms are the same as the internal review: Only one selected user has to take action, the target date creates a milestone, and the approval information will be captured.

The workflow will behave differently automatically. It will prevent a direct completion of the approval process and instead initiate the external review in case the internal review was a success. Both the Approval Flow graphic and the Workflow actions menu will adjust accordingly:

If an external review is defined, the release of the defined requirements will be postponed until the external review was successful. The selected lifecycle actions will only be applied to the affected requirements when status Released is reached in the Approval Flow.
