Update Roll-Up Values
BOM roll-up values such as Total Cost and Total Weight appear in the first row of the BOM table with the BOM item's Item Details (0.0).
Roll-up values are updated when you:
- Display the BOM
- Select another revision
- Toggle between nested view and flat view
- Change the BOM View as of date
Overrides and Blanks
There are times when roll-ups do not add up to what is expected or are even blank. In these cases, a tooltip provides one of two explanations:
- Not all items are included in the roll-up
- A parent item's value caused the roll-up calculation to differ from the values displayed in the BOM.
For example, if the source value for the roll-up comes from the Item Details tab instead of the Bill of Materials tab, the item could have a total weight that is more than what is represented by the individual line items in the BOM. If an item in the BOM comes from a related workspace, the roll-up field looks for a source field with the same name and type in the workspace. If a matching field cannot be found, the item is ignored in the roll-up and an override icon appears next to the blank space.
