To Open and Create Catalogs

Open a Catalog

  1. In the Spec Editor, click File menuOpen Catalog.

    Alternatively, click the + button on the Catalog Browser.

  2. In the Open dialog box, navigate to the desired catalog file and click Open.

Create a New Catalog from an Existing Catalog

  1. In the Spec Editor, click File menuNewCreate Catalog From Existing.
  2. In the Create Catalog From Existing Catalog dialog box, enter the source catalog name (for example, ASME Pipes and Fittings Catalog.pcat).
  3. Enter a new catalog file name (for example, ASME Pipes and Fittings Catalog - Copy).
  4. Click Create.
    5. Note: You can create a catalog and delete all components to use it as an empty catalog template.

Create a New Catalog from an Existing Spec

  1. In the Spec Editor, click File menuOpen Spec.
  2. In the Open dialog box, navigate to the desired spec file and click Open.
  3. Click File menuExport.
  4. In the Export To dialog box, Save as Type dropdown list, select *.pcat.
  5. Enter a file name.
  6. Click Save.
