Creates and modifies spec sheets.
Using the Spec editor, you can add parts from a catalog to create a spec sheet. You can then specify which fittings to use when routing for a specific pipe size.

Spec Details
- Spec name. Displays the name of the current and active spec.
- Recent specs. Displays a list of the most recently used specs.
- Open spec. Displays the Open dialog box, which allows you to browse and open an existing spec file.
- New spec. Displays the Create Spec dialog box, which allows you to create a new spec.
- Spec description. Displays the description of the current spec. Click to add or modify the spec description.
Spec Sheet
- Column Customizer
- Displays the property list where you can choose specific properties to display in the columns. You can also manually adjust the location of each column by dragging them.
- If you have already added custom properties from Spec Editor, they are displayed in the property list flyout. Custom part family properties are displayed in the Spec Sheet property list.
- Size Range
- Displays the minimum and maximum sizes available for a part based on its spec.
- You can use the Part List tab (Spec Property Editor dialog box) to modify the size range in the spec.
- Part Use Priority
- Sets the order that parts are used based on part size. A warning icon (
) displays when a size conflict exists and priority has not been set. A green circle (
) displays when size conflicts are resolved.
- Right-click in the column to display the Part Use Priority dialog box.
- Branch in Use
- Displays a check icon (
) if a part is used in the Branch Table.
- Remove from Spec
- Deletes the selected parts from the spec.
- Add to Spec
- Adds the selected parts in the Catalog Browser to the spec.
- When you add parts to the spec, all part sizes in the part group are included. Use the Manage Size dialog box to specify a size range in the spec.
Properties
Sets values for various attributes of part families and part sizes, including connection properties.
Part Family Properties Tab
Configures property values and connection settings for part families.
- Part Family Properties
- Sets part family property values, such as manufacturer and design standard.
- Part Family Connection Port Properties
- Sets values that define how the part connects to pipe or pipe components. You can set values for individual ports or all ports.
Part Size Properties Tab
Configures property values and connection settings for different part sizes.
- Part Size Properties
- Sets part size property values, such as long description (size) and weight.
- Part Size Connection Port Properties
- Sets values that define how the part connects to pipe or pipe components. You can set values for individual ports or all ports.
- Size Parameters
- Displays part dimensions for individual sizes.

Note: You cannot edit size parameters in the spec.
Manage Sizes
Manages which sizes are included in a spec.
Property Editor
Displays the Spec Property Editor dialog box to edit properties.
Edit in Catalog
Locates the selected part in the catalog when selecting a part in the spec sheet. You can continue to edit it in the catalog if needed.
Save Spec
Saves modifications for the current spec.
