When a column is homed, it can cause the machine datum to vary slightly, and this can introduce measurement errors. To avoid this problem, the Dual Column Calibration Wizard includes an option that enables you to check and adjust the original calibration, and to ensure that each column is accurately reporting measurements in the common coordinate system. It is similar to the full calibration method except that you need measure only one probing sphere because only the translation of the matrix is adjusted.
