NS Code - General

The General tab of the Calculation Parameter Definition dialog box for the Norwegian code NS 3473:

Concrete parameters are defined 3 ways.

  • When the As in a structure model option is selected, needed material parameters are assigned from the data used for static calculations of structures.
  • Giving a concrete grade from a provided list.
  • Determining concrete strength.

The following parameters can be defined.

  • Creep coefficient.
  • Concrete age(at the loading moment and at the user-selected moment).
  • Relative humidity.

It should be decided if a beam is to be designed for the perpendicular or oblique cracking width. If selected, cracking width after calculations is not greater than the user defined value of admissible cracking width. If deselected, then the cracking width will be calculated for beams and provided in the table.

Below the exposure determined in the code, LA, NA, MA or SA may be chosen.
