Load Type (CNR-UNI)

Use this option to define the character of the loads applied to a bar. There are two ways to access this option:

  • Click the relevant icon in the Load Type field in the Manual Verification dialog,
  • Click the icon in the Member definition - additional parameters dialog.

The following dialog displays:

As specified by the CNR-UNI code, you should specify the character of the applied loads in one or both planes of the member cross-section axes, when you calculate code coefficients (for buckling, and lateral buckling). You can choose load cases recognized in the indicated steel code.

During automatic calculations, the character of the load changes together with the changes of load case. For automatic calculations, the default option is Constant Moment, Linearly. After a calculation case is selected manually, or the value of internal forces is defined by the user, you can exactly determine the character of the load.
