Connection Verification (Pin)

Using this option, you can specify manual verification parameters for the defined pinned connection.

Access the option by:

  1. Clicking Connections layout.
  2. Clicking Connections menu > Manual Calculations.

After you select the option, the Manual Verification of the Connection dialog displays.

Specify verification parameters:

  • Node number - displays the number of the node for which the selected connection type is verified
  • Connection number - displays the number of the verified connection
  • Internal Forces in the Connection
    • Compression force Nc - enter the compression force value for the connection
    • Tension force Nt - enter the tension force value for the connection
    • Shear force Qy - enter the shear force value in the Y-axis direction
    • Shear force Qz - enter the shear force value in the Z-axis direction
    • Axial force from Qy - enter the connection axial force resulting from the shear force QY (QY force component projected in the X-axis direction)
    • Axial force from Qz - enter the connection axial force resulting from the shear force QZ (QZ force component projected in the X-axis direction).
  • Simplified note - select it to display a simple calculation note with the basic information about the verified connection.

After clicking the Calculations button the software runs calculations of the selected connection type for a given structure node. Define internal connection forces (M, Q, N).
