Footfall Analysis - Diagrams

You can display detailed results such as full excitation (the effect of excitation from one node on another) or self excitation (the effect of excitation of a node on itself) in diagrams. Access the option by selecting Results menu > Advanced > Footfall Analysis - Diagrams option.

You can select the following types of diagrams in the dialog:

  • Results for the resonant (harmonic) analysis:
    • Response factor - Frequency
    • Acceleration - Frequency
    • Dynamic load factor - Frequency
  • Results for the transient analysis:
    • Response factor - Frequency
    • Velocity - Time, for the maximum footfall frequency
    • VRMS (Root Mean Square Velocity ) - Frequency
    • VRMQ (Root Mean Quad Velocity) - Frequency.

Also, select the node for which to display diagrams and the excitation node.

You can obtain detailed diagrams between any excitation nodes and response nodes, irrespective of that if you have performed a self-excitation or full-excitation analysis, or an analysis considering only a limited number of nodes. The software creates diagrams dividing the frequency interval in a given case to 100 points.

You can also display the Footfall analysis results as a node table and as maps on panels. Diagrams display the maximum result from the specified footfall frequency for each node. You can select the following results:

  • Maximum Resonant Response Factor
  • Maximum Transient Response Factor
  • Overall Maximum Response Factor
  • Maximum total acceleration
  • VRMS (Root mean square velocities)
  • VRMQ (Root mean quad velocities).

The table specifies the excitation node and frequency. For each response node, it indicates the excitation node and the frequency for which the maximum response factor was achieved.
