Tab Views

In the drawing area, each view (or schedule or sheet) has its own tab. You can tile views so you can see multiple views at once. Use the Tab Views tool to combine tiled views into a single window with a tab for each, or organize tabbed views in multiple windows (tiles).

By default, each view opens in a new tab. Use Tile Views and Tab Views to switch back and forth between tiles and tabs, depending on your current needs.

  • Click View tabWindows panel (Tab Views).

When you tab views, all tiled views that reside in the drawing area are placed in a single tabbed window. The Tab Views tool does not affect views that reside outside the Revit application window.

If the tabs for all open views don't fit across the top of the window, use the drop-down menu to access the remaining tabbed views.

After tabbing views, you can do the following:

  • Drag a tab to put the views in a particular order.
  • Drag a tab to dock the view to a position in the drawing area.
  • Drag a tab out of the Revit application window and move the view to another monitor.
  • Press CTRL+Tab to advance through each open view,(including views that have been moved out of the Revit application window). Set your Options to control if the views are cycled by tab position or by history, (most recent to least recent).
  • Click (Tile Views) to see multiple views at once.
