Forma Connected Client (Tech Preview)

Using a Forma Connected Client, you can take advantage of Forma tools and workflows across Forma Site Design, Forma Building Design, and desktop products such as Revit.

The Forma Connected Client designation recognizes when an application is deeply integrated with the Forma industry cloud, enabling shared data, AI-powered workflows, and seamless collaboration. Revit is the first desktop application to become a Forma Connected Client.

Note: As a Forma Connected Client, Revit offers Forma capabilities that are part of a technology preview (tech preview), which means that it's new and continuously improving. Learn more.

Forma tools leverage a common data repository (Forma Data Management) and a common data schema. This means an improved experience and interoperability across multiple applications without the need to send files back and forth between them, regardless of where your model was originally authored.

The initial workflows focus on connected experiences between Revit and Forma tools:

  • See the same data across applications without duplicating work or being required to import or export files.
  • Enrich Revit models with real-world contextual data to make informed decisions.
  • Perform Forma sustainability analyses.
  • Quickly transition between Forma Site Design and Revit to design in any environment.

More Forma tools and workflows will become available in Revit over time. For new Revit releases and updates, check What's New for the latest Forma additions.
