When you apply sketchy lines to a view, surface patterns display noise or undesirable inconsistencies.
Issue: You enabled sketchy lines in a view. Where surface patterns display, the sketchy lines generate a moire pattern, visual noise, or inconsistencies. You may notice this effect for elements that show small-scale surface patterns, including wood floors, roof tiles, brick walls, and clapboard siding.

These effects are the result of the amount of jitter applied to lines (including surface patterns) in the model. When you apply sketchy lines to a view, long lines get more jitter than short lines. This behavior can result in uneven patterns for some parts of the affected element.
Solutions: Do one of the following to achieve the desired affect:
- Turn off surface patterns for the affected elements: right-click an element and click Override Graphics in View
by Element or by Category. Expand Surface Patterns, and clear the Visible check box.
- Reduce the value of the Jitter setting on the Graphic Display Options dialog.
