About the change request APIs

Before you use Upchain’s APIs ensure you have an access token.

All change request (CR) related endpoints cannot be used by all team members on a project. This largely depends on the license the user has in Upchain. Further restrictions are applied when obtaining an access token. When restrictions apply, permitted functions are specified in the endpoint's description on Swagger.

1. Users may create a CR. The CR may be empty or include parts, subassemblies, or assemblies.

2. Before starting the CR workflow, users may add items or files to the CR.

3. Before starting a CR workflow, team members may:

   • Change the workflow used for a CR, description, priority, release maturity, etc..
   • Update the release type and revision note for items in a CR.

4. Users may start the CR workflow.

Other operations that may be performed by users for a CR in-progress:

• Get the items that belong to a specific CR.
• Get the CR details for a specified item.
