About the Autodesk® Validation Tool

With the Autodesk® Validation Tool, you can take advantage of virtually infinite computing power in the cloud to quickly analyze your Revit models for best practices, project standards or digital delivery requirements. By signing into your Autodesk account, you can analyze any of the Revit models hosted on your BIM360 Docs or Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) platforms. Use the Autodesk® Validation Tool to keep your models performing well and meeting digital delivery standards.

Data you upload to the Autodesk Docs platforms is stored at a secure data center. Your source files cannot be edited or changed using the Autodesk® Validation Tool service. Only a person authorized to use the service can perform a model anaylsis.

With the Autodesk® Validation Tool, you can:

  • Analyze models for best practices with any of our preformatted checksets or a custom checkset
  • Analyze models for digital deliverable standards such as asset data or naming conventions
  • Use any of the preformatted checksets Autodesk provides
  • Create MS Excel based reports that are dashboard ready

On May 7th, 2024, Autodesk launched the Autodesk Validation Tool as a pay-per-result product. With the Autodesk Validation Tool, you can use virtually infinite computing power in the cloud to quickly analyze your Revit models for best practices, project standards or digital delivery requirements. Who would use AVT?

AVT is for all project members that can benefit from model quality and data validation including Revit Users, BIM Managers, Project Managers, Consultants and Owners. AVT brings model checking and model validation to virtually any stakeholder.

Is AVT a program that I have to install?

No, AVT is a simple, web-based UI that serves as a front end for creating and managing tasks that run on the Forge Design Automation for Revit service. After the model checking task completes, AVT provides capabilities to manage the delivery of the reports.

Why release a cloud version of the Model Checker?

AVT enables all appropriate project stakeholders to have access to model checking even if they are not Revit users. AVT also provides model checking at scale without the need to download or localize files.

How do I get access to AVT?

If you have a subscription to the Autodesk Flex program, you will also receive an entitlement to AVT that you can assign in your Autodesk Account. If you are an Autodesk Enterprise Business Agreement (EBA) customer, AVT comes with your Autodesk Docs entitlement and can also be assigned to users in your Autodesk Account.
