Issue:
- How to join individual lines to single line in Fusion.
- Combine a set of lines, curves, and arcs so that a joined profile can be exported from Fusion 360 and opened in another program as a continuous single object.
- How to combine lines similarly to the AutoCAD join command in Fusion.
Causes:
Fusion does not contain a function similar to Join in AutoCAD to combine sketch elements.
Solution:
When a sketch is finished and all lines are touching, it begins to work as a combined shape.- Connect lines to create a closed profile:
- Turn on Show Points and Show Profile in the Sketch Palette.
- To find disconnected lines, notice every white endpoint. This may indicate areas that are not coincident.
- Resolve any areas that aren't coincident by applying a coincident constraint.
- If the object is still not combined, try the technique here to find any other gaps in the geometry: Find break in sketch geometry.
- Straight lines that are collinear can be combined using the extend function:
- Open the sketch for editing.
- Click Modify > Extend.
- Select one end of the first line, then the end of the last line.
- Finish the Sketch.
