This article lists and describes pre-defined layers available in Fusion. Important: Layer names have been updated to map more closely with industry terms.

Show/hide layers Lock/unlock layers Set a layer as the active layer Add a layer Delete the selected layer .

Switches between displaying all visible layers in full color to displaying only the Active Layer in full color and all other layers in grayscale.

If a signal transitions to another layer , the single layer view tracks the layer change, and displays only the new active layer .

The layer stack diagram shows all layers of PCB and via pairs in abstract diagram.

For simple two or more layer boards, vias usually drill through all layers .

Create or modify custom layer sets. There are three types of layer sets: Read-only Layer Sets are predefined layer sets provided for convenient use.

Using the Layer Stack Manager On the Design tab, in the Layers panel, click Layer Stack Manager .

On the PCB Design toolbar, click Modify > Lock > Lock Current Layer . All objects on the current layer are locked in place.

Select the preferred directions and base costs (cfBase) for the layer in Autorouter setup. A higher value of cfBase for the polygon layer causes the Autorouter to avoid these layers more strongly.

Table Choose between Layer Stack and Via Pairs. Layer Stack Provides detailed information about the different layers used in the PCB, including their materials, thicknesses, and purposes.

In the Insert Layer Stack Table dialog, select Layer Stack from the Table drop-down list.
