Exercise 7: Use a 3D Model as a Style

Sketch an area and populate it with trees using the new 3D model.

    To use a 3D model as a style for a new tree area

  1. Click .
  2. Click (Sketch Row of Trees) or (Sketch Stand of Trees).
  3. Click to draw each point of the polygon for the tree area, and double click to finish.
  4. Click to display the Style Palette.
  5. Click the 3D Model tab then double-click the Vegetation folder.
  6. Drag and drop the 3D model onto the tree area.
  7. To make the trees closer together, adjust the Density slider that appears when you drop the 3D model on the tree area.
  8. To adjust the height of the trees, drag the vertical blue arrow to the desired height.
