Exercise 6: Publish the scenario

Make the scenario available to others

You can make your published scenarios available to an Autodesk InfraWorks 360 group, or to specific invitees. A scenario you share with a group is a private scenario. A scenario you share with non-group members is a public scenario.

Make your scenario public to invite people who are not members of an Autodesk InfraWorks 360 group. The scenario will be available via a website or iTunes®. Invitees can install a free web viewer or a free iPad® app to view the scenarios to which they have access.

Publish the scenario

  1. Continuing from the previous exercise, ensure that required information is completed on the Scenario Editor asset card.
Note: Required: Name and proposal to publish, Area of Interest.

The icon indicates the Scenario has incomplete information.

    • Toggle on Public Access (No Login Required) under the Access Rights section.
    • Click (Publish/Sync) in the Utility Bar.

The Scenarios panel reports the publication status of a scenario, which may be in 1 of 5 publication states. See To publish a scenario for more information.

  2. View the online scenario from within Autodesk InfraWorks 360.
    • From the Start page, click (Manage Online Scenarios).
    • In the Manage Online Scenarios dialog box, click Open In Web Browser for the published scenario.

This option uses the same link that your colleagues will see in their invitations. If the web browser add-in is not yet installed on your computer, you are prompted to download and install it.

    • In the web viewer, click Help to see information about using the web viewer. Click Navigate Within A Scenario to see how to pan zoom, and move around the scenario.

Close the Help window when you are finished.

    • Click Settings and select Auto-Rotate Camera to see the model from all sides.
    • Note: See To manage online scenarios for more help.
