A runner is a channel for plastic melt to flow from the sprue to the feed gates. Runner shapes include full round, half round, and trapezoid.
The runner system consists of the main runner (primary runner), branch runner (secondary runner), and tertiary runner.
The sprue is included in the runner system. A secondary sprue (sprue runner) can be included in a three-plate mold.
