Sweep Along a 3D Equation Curve

Now you create a work plane and a 2D sketch that is used as the profile of a sweep feature. To create the sweep feature, use the circle as the profile and the 3D equation curve as the path.

  1. Start the work plane command.
  2. Select the 3D equation curve you just created then select the start point of the curve. This creates a work plane perpendicular to the curve at the selected point.
  3. Create a new sketch on Work Plane1.
  4. Project the start point of the 3D equation curve. This is the same point you used to create the work plane.
  5. Create a circle. Use the projected point as the center point of the circle.
  6. Dimension the circle as 0.2 mm.
  7. Finish the sketch.
  8. Turn off the visibility of Work Plane1.
  9. Start the Sweep command. The circle is automatically selected as the profile.
  10. Select the 3D equation curve as the path.
  11. Change the operation to Cut.
  12. Click OK.
