Review Time to Reach Ejection Temperature Results

In this task, you interpret the Time to reach ejection temperature results, commonly known as cooling time.

  1. Click Time to reach ejection temperature in the study tasks list.

  2. Note the time range the part freezes.

  3. Turn on the Runner system layer.

  4. Note the time range the runners freeze.

  5. Click Results > Plots > Examine. Hold the CTRL key and click several places on the runner system and parts.

The part freezes at under 9 seconds but the base of the sprue is about 60 seconds and runners are about 40 seconds. Cooling the runners so the shot can be ejected is controlling the cycle time.
