Exporting Structural Elements to AutoCAD Architecture

You can export beams, braces, columns, and grids from Revit to AutoCAD Architecture, where they are converted automatically to native AutoCAD Architecture structural elements. Structural walls, structural floors, footings, in-place families, and other Revit objects can also be exported to AutoCAD Architecture, where they are converted to AutoCAD Architecture mass elements.

Attention: Only Revit 3D views can be exported as AutoCAD Architecture objects.

AutoCAD Architecture Styles and Revit Families

The display of a structural object in AutoCAD Architecture is controlled by its style. A style is a collection of properties that determine the visibility and shape of individual object components, layer assignments, linetype settings, and more. Instead of styles, Revit uses the concept of families, which determine not only the display of objects but also physical properties, like sizes and dimensions.
