Sign Parameters Rollout

Provides controls for sign and road-marking objects.

In general, when you use the Object Placement Style Editor to place a series of parametric objects in a single SOS element, the objects are linked as instances. This means that changing any of the following parameters affects all objects in the set. To unlink such instances, please refer to the topic Parameter Instancing.

Sign Face group

[sign face preview]
Displays a thumbnail preview of the sign texture used by the sign object.
[sign name]
Displays the name of the sign definition.
Other Sign Definitions
Click to display a Select Sign dialog that lets you choose a sign object definition from any active Civil View Resource Kit.

Choosing a sign definition file updates the texture and geometry of the sign object.

Sign Face Dimensions group

Width / Height
Set the height and width of the sign object. By default, these values are obtained from the Civil View Sign Library INI file.
  • Lock When on, locks the Width and Height values so the sign is always square.
Reset
Click to reset the sign face dimensions to those specified in the original INI file.

Post Dimensions group

These controls activate only for parametric sign objects. They do not apply to parametric road-marking objects.

Post Height
The height of the post or posts from ground level to the top of the sign face.

The default value is derived from the Civil View Sign Library INI file.

Ground Depth
The depth of the supporting pole or poles below ground level.
Note: For clarity, this portion of the object is not displayed in wireframe viewports.
Post Count
The number of poles supporting the sign face.

The default number is derived from the Civil View Sign Library INI file.

Edge Offset
The offset of posts from the outer edges of the sign face. (Not used when the sign has only one post.)

Parameter Instancing group

Allows the parameters of a collection of objects of the same basic type to be shared or instanced.

See Parameter Instancing for further details.
