The Help menu provides access to the 3ds Max online help, and to other learning resources.

Autodesk 3ds Max Help

Opens the 3ds Max Help.

What's New

Opens 3ds Max Help to the new features section.

3ds Max Learning Channel

Opens the default Web browser with a page with links to learning videos. The How-To movies cover more advanced concepts than the Startup movies.

Welcome Screen

Opens the Welcome Screen.

Tutorials

Opens the online tutorials for 3ds Max.

Learning Path

Opens the default Web browser to a page of resources for learning how to use 3ds Max.

Additional Help

Opens a dialog that lets you choose to display the help for installed third-party plug-ins and for add-on products from Autodesk.

By default, this command looks for additional help files in the \help subdirectory. That location might have changed if you've edited plug-in path settings. See 3rd Party Plug-Ins Path Configuration

Search 3ds Max Commands

Choose this to display the Command Search dialog.

MAXScript Help

Opens the MAXScript help. MAXScript is the built-in scripting language for 3ds Max.

Exchange Apps

Opens the Web page for the Autodesk Exchange applications store.

3ds Max Services and Support

• Support Center

  Opens the default Web browser to the 3ds Max Support page.

• Data Exchange Solutions

  Opens the default Web browser to a page about software for exchanging data among applications.

• Certified Hardware

  Opens the default Web browser to a page that lists the certified hardware for running 3ds Max.

3ds Max Communities

• AREA Product Community

  Opens the default Web browser to the AREA home page.

• AREA Discussion Forums

  Opens the default Web browser to discussions in the AREA.

• Student Community

  Opens the default Web browser to the Autodesk Education Community pages.

• Facebook

  Opens the default Web browser to the 3ds Max Facebook page.

Speak Back

• Report a Problem

  Opens a Web page where you can report a problem with 3ds Max.

• Small Annoying Things to Fix

  Opens the default Web browser to the 3ds Max Feedback page.

• Ideas for 3ds Max

  Opens a Web page where you can suggest ideas for features in future releases.

• Desktop Analytics Program

  Opens a dialog that lets you activate the Desktop Analytics Program.

  When activated, lets Autodesk collect anonymous information about the Autodesk products you use, the length of time you use them, and your geographic location. No personal information is collected.

• Customer Involvement Program

  Opens a dialog that lets you activate the Customer Involvement Program.

  When activated, lets Autodesk collect anonymous information about your usage of 3ds Max to help us improve 3ds Max. No personal information is collected. 3ds Max Resources and Tools

• Download Vegetation

  Opens the default Web browser to the Autodesk Seek page that has a database of models you can download to use as Foliage.

• Autodesk Animation Store

  Lets you purchase Biped and CAT characters and apply animations to your characters in real time. See Autodesk Animation Store and Animation Store Help.

• Partners

  Opens the default Web browser to the Partner Products & Services—Media & Entertainment page.

• Diagnose Video Hardware

  Lets you determine whether your system supports certain display-related features. See Diagnose Video Hardware.

• Keyboard Shortcut Map

  Opens your Web browser to an interactive map of keyboard shortcuts ("hotkeys").

License Borrowing

• If you are using a network-licensed version of 3ds Max, use the commands on this submenu to borrow or return a license. For details, see the AutoCAD License Borrowing help, which is available as the file acad_brw.chm, installed in the \program files\common files\autodesk shared\enu folder on your local drive (typically, drive C:).

• 3ds Max Home Page

  Opens the default Web browser to the home page for 3ds Max.

• Check for Updates

  Opens the default Web browser to a page where you can download updates and service packs for 3ds Max products.

• Try Other Autodesk Products

  Opens the default Web browser to a page where you can download trial versions of other Autodesk products.

• About 3ds Max

  Displays copyright and license information about your copy of 3ds Max.
