After installing the product, you will want to learn about the new features and how to migrate your customization from the previous release.
You can use the Welcome Screen videos to learn about the latest features and the product’s Help to learn about the new commands and system variables in the latest release.
Several tools can assist you in migrating custom settings and files from a previous release to the latest release. Which tools you choose depends on the amount and complexity of your customization. For example, if you have done some light or moderate product customization, you might only need to use the Migrate Custom Settings tool that displays when you start the product the first time.
The following tools are available to help migrate custom settings and files between product releases:
- Migrate Custom Settings – Migrates common custom settings and files from a previous release to the latest release.
- Export <product and release> Settings – Exports custom settings and files for archiving or moving to a different computer
- Import <product and release> Settings – Imports a previous set of exported custom settings or files
- Migrate From a Previous Release – Migrates settings from a previously installed release to the latest release
- Synchronize Custom Settings – Backs up your custom settings and files through Autodesk 360.
- Customize User Interface (CUI) Editor – Customizes the user interface and transfers customization between CUIx files.
- Customization tab – Creates or modifies user interface elements
- Transfer tab – Transfers user interface elements from one CUIx file to another, or converts MNU, MNS, and CUI files to CUIx files
- Options dialog box (Profiles tab) – Imports and exports user profiles.
- Plotter and Plot Style Managers – Creates and edits plotter configuration (PC3) and plot style (CTB and STB) files.
- Reset Settings to Default – Restores the product to its default install settings.
