When the Modeling Toolkit is activated, Maya uses the toolkit's unique selection and transformation tools instead of its native toolset.
If you want to keep the Modeling Toolkit active throughout your Maya session, you can enable the Auto-Activate Modeling Toolkit (Options > Auto-Activate Modeling Toolkit) option.
To activate the Modeling Toolkit
- Do one of the following in the Modeling Toolkit window:
- Select Options > Activate Modeling Toolkit.
- Click the power button
. - Select any of the Selection modes or Transform tools.
Tip: The Auto-Activate Modeling Toolkit (Options > Auto-Activate Modeling Toolkit) option forces Maya to use the Modeling Toolkit's selection and transformation tools. When enabled, the Toolkit's tools are always used regardless of whether the Modeling Toolkit is active or not. When disabled, the Toolkit tools are only used when they are selected from the Modeling Toolkit window.
To deactivate the Modeling Toolkit
- Do one of the following in the Modeling Toolkit window:
- Select Options > Deactivate Modeling Toolkit.
- Click the power button.
