Use the Dalton Browser to set up your equipment.
Note: if the Dalton Browser is not available, click
Browser in the
Visibility panel to display it.
Tip: Click
(Show me) to zoom on the selected system element. This allows you to better visualize equipment or specific areas in the distribution system.
To set up a pump
- In the Dalton Browser, expand the Equipment category, and then navigate to the Pumps section.
- Find the node corresponding to the pump that you want to set up, and then expand it.
- Select a type of pump from the Name list.
- Click Curve to review the pump curve data points.
Note: By default, the four pump curve data points are supplied by the pump manufacture, but you can enter your own data points.
- Under Energy, enter a Heat Flux and a Temperature for the fluid.
To set up a valve
- In the Dalton Browser, expand the Equipment category, and then navigate to the Valves section.
- Find the node corresponding to the valve that you want to set up, and then expand it.
- Under Performance Data, specify if you want to define a curve or a K Factor for your valve.
- Under Energy, enter a Heat Flux and a Temperature for the fluid.
