To Import Custom Symbols

If you import existing block drawings to use as symbols in Utility Design, it is important to replace hatch fills with solid fills for best performance.

Symbol styles are associated with each feature class and are defined using the Industry Model Configuration dialog box.

Note: For best performance, replace any hatch fills in the symbol block with solid fills.

1. Click Configuration tabSetup panelIndustry Model.
2. In the Industry Model Configuration dialog box, click the Feature Class of the feature for which to import a symbol.
3. Click the Styles tab.
4. On the Styles tab you can define a single default style or create styles for various models of the feature class.
5. Click double-click the Default Style or any of the styles listed in the Styles list to open the Style Editor.

   Depending on the geometry of the feature class (point or line), the properties listed in Style Editor vary.

6. In the Style Editor, do either of the following:
   • For the Block property for point features, click Choose A Block For The Symbol to open symbol library and select a block.
   • For the Linetype property for line features, select a linetype or click Load and load a new line type.
