To Create a New Design

The first step in working with Utility Design is to create a new design drawing. The design drawing is based on the template you specify which defines the rule standards and contains the industry model. In addition, you can specify the coordinate system, analysis option set, and document properties for the design.

  1. Click Home tabProject Area panelNew Design.
  2. On the Template tab, select the template to use for this design drawing.
  3. Under Set Coordinate System, click and specify the coordinate system for your drawing.
  4. To specify custom document properties, click the Properties tab and do the following:
    • Click to display the Add Custom Property dialog box.
    • Under Custom Property Name, enter a name for the property.
    • Under Value, enter the property value. Then click OK.
    • Add more properties and values as needed. To remove an unneeded property/value pair, select either the property name or the value and click .

  5. Click OK to generate the new design drawing and close the New Design dialog box.
