Select References is a configuration mode that lets you assign individual copy actions to component references.
Important: This topic is intended for Vault 2015 R2 users. Vault 2015 users should see the original
Copy Design help topics.
Tip: By default, reference file names are set to the destination file name when an action is assigned. You can view the
Numbering Panel to identify files by original name or add File Name (Historical) to the main view.
Default Behavior for Component References
By default, all component references are copied. When Select References is turned on, you can choose which references of a component are copied instead of copying all component references.
Note: Multi-select is not enabled when Select References is turned on. Any component reference that is selected must have its own unique action.
Turn Select References On or Off
Turn on Select References to be able to assign individual copy actions to component references.
- Select the Master Menu
and click Select References to turn it on. A check mark beside the option indicates that it is turned on.
Select the option again to turn it off.
Note: Actions set in reference mode are independent of one another. Copying multiple instances of a component will create multiple new files. Use
Replace with pending data to reference a new file instance multiple times.
