View Item Security (Vault 2015 R2)

View who has read, write, and delete access to an item on the Item Security tab.

Note: This feature is available only in Vault 2015 R2.

1. Right-click on an item in the Item Master and select Details.
2. On the Details dialog, select the Security tab.

   You can also access the Details dialog by selecting Details from the File menu.

    You can review the following information on the Security tab:

   • Security Mode

     Indicates the security precedence for the selected item. The default setting is role-based security only. However, if security settings have been overridden, then the mode is set to System or overriden security and the permissions in the Access Control List (ACL) are used instead. If no permissions are defined in the ACL, then system security takes precedence.

   • Groups and Users and Their Permissions

     The ACL shows which groups and users are granted access to the selected item, and their respective permissions.
