Save Job to a CAJ, ESJ or MAJ File

In CADmep, you can save all or part of a job to a .CAJ, .ESJ, or .MAJ file.

Save to a CAJ File (CAJOUT Command)

The CAM (CAJOUT) command outputs selected items, or an entire model, to a .MAJ file, and automatically updates item statuses according to how the Change Status After Export To Cam option is set in CAD Settings. For more information, see CAD Settings and Item Statuses.

This command is useful when you want item statuses to automatically be updated when the resulting .maj file is created. For example, item statuses could be changed from "Design Phase" to "To Manufacturing".

To output selected items, or an entire model to a .maj file, and automatically update statuses:

1. In CADmep, at the command line, type CAJOUT, and then press Enter. The "Do you want to convert Non MAP 3DObjects?" prompt, provides the option to convert 3D objects that are not fabrication parts to fabrication parts in the resulting .maj file.

   You are prompted to select objects.

2. Select the desired items in the model, or select the entire model, and then press Enter.

   The Save Job As dialog displays.

3. In the Save as type field, make sure Job (*.MAJ) is selected.
4. Type in an appropriate file name for the job, and then press Save.

   The job is saved as a .maj file to the specified location and with the specified file name. In the resulting .maj file, item statuses are updated according to how the Change Status After Export To Cam option is set in CAD Settings.

Save to an ESJ or MAJ File

You can output selected items, or an entire model, to an .ESJ or .MAJ file, and like the above (CAJOUT) command, automatically update item statuses according to how the Change Status After Export To Cam option is set in CAD Settings.

To output selected items, or an entire model to an .ESJ or .MAJ file, and automatically update statuses:

1. In CADmep, Right-click CADmep Cam.

   You are prompted to select objects.

2. Select the desired items in the model, or select the entire model, and then press Enter.

   The Save Job As dialog displays.

3. Specify an appropriate file name in the File name field.
4. In the Save as type field, select one of the following:
   • Job (*.MAJ)
   • Archived Job (*.ESJ)
5. Click Save.

   The job is saved as an .ESJ or .MAJ file to the specified location and with the specified file name. In the resulting file, item statuses are updated according to how the Change Status After Export To Cam option is set in CAD Settings.
